The facility will operate, for the most part, as a school facility. The school district will use the facility for normal school functions such as band, orchestra, chorus, ensemble, drama/theatre, musicals, lectures and assemblies. The facility, both teaching spaces and the concert hall, will be available to the schools as a first priority. However, school is in session only 180 days in the year. As such, it is anticipated that the facility also will be available for community use, such as recitals, rehearsals, concerts, lectures, classes and etc.
The New Albany Community Foundation is establishing the “Endowed Series in the Arts” through private donations. The series will bring guest lecturers and artists to the community to interact with students and residents on an ongoing basis. The artists in residence will not only perform, but at times will conduct master classes and share their life paths, inspirations, passions and talents.
In addition, the Stakeholder groups have forged alliances with Central Ohio Arts and Education entities designed to supplement the school’s curriculum. Through the “Arts Alliance” these organizations will have access to the facility for outreach, teaching and performance opportunities. We hope to promote their missions in New Albany. In exchange, these organizations will share musicians, authors or visiting artists to conduct master classes with the students.
Partnership opportunities are at various levels of discussion with the following organizations:
